When we purchased this fixer upper in 2016, I so wanted to be content with the 1960’s kitchen, layout, appliances and everything else but I kept having a tugging on my frugal heart. I didn’t buy the house with the intention of tearing down walls and completely changing it, but as I reflected on our values, I began to consider what REALLY matters in our family and home. It came to me – THE KITCHEN IS THE HEART OF THE HOME – with our family and making it conducive to our lifestyle is the best thing we could do for US.
Of course I wanted to do everything on a budget and do the best we could with the resources we had, but to leave it the way it was would not do our family any justice. We 99% of our meals at home, we love to batchcook and meal prep as a family and we LOVE gathering in the kitchen for our most intimate and close moments as a family. So that is our WHY for our budget renovation. If you want to see our renovation, check out our kitchen remodel video on Youtube and all the links below the video.
